President's New Year's Day Concert new york, we love new york

Maltese tenor Nico Darmanin will be headlining the vocal and instrumental New Year’s concert together with the National Philharmonic Orchestra on 3 January, under the patronage of President Marie Louise Coliero Preca.

Despite his young age, Nico Darmanin has already managed to establish himself as one of the most promising singers in classical music. He made his debut at the Royal Opera House and has already interpreted such roles as Almaviva in Barbiere di Siviglia, Ramiro in La Cenerentola, Ottavio in Don Giovanni, and Belfiore in Il Viaggio and Reims during the Opera Festival dedicated to Rossini which took place in Pesaro.

He has won a number of prizes and received positive comments about his voice and performances, some of which came from well-known music critics.

Nico Darmanin said, “The most important thing, especially as a musician and artist, is to express yourself and not hold back, because that is the only way to see the true personality of the artist and to understand what makes him more special than anyone else.”

The President’s New Year’s concert will take place at the Mediterranean Conference Centre. The National Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by Mro. Joseph Debrincat and the programme will include popular pieces, including music by composers Tchaikovsky, Donizetti, and Maltese composer Charles Camilleri.

Proceeds from the tickets will go towards the Malta Community Chest Fund.
